Piano and hystorical praxis, pedagogie and research
Paolo Munaò Born in Sicily and recipient of the AFAM "Premio Claudio Abbado" (Bologna 2015), that is the most prestigious italian prize for excellence in the Arts. In Paris, he received the ASCHBERG Award for Creative Artists 2004 from Maria João Pires (Belgais Centre) and the UNESCO Committee. Sergio Fiorentino was his teacher and mentor. Today Mr. Munaò taught as piano professor (MIUR Florence) and he is also the official juror at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Cherubini”. In the last years, he was visiting assistant in piano at the Musik-Akademie Basel and he enjoyed the faculty of the Julliard School/Ferro Summer Program in Tuscany. Avid of hystorical praxis, he was awarded with the "Artist Diploma" at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (2018). Last major lectures and recitals: Bergen International Music Festival, Victoria Hall Genéve (with Jordi Savall), AKA - Hungarian Academy of Sciences Budapest, Maggio Fiorentino Festival and Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte Montepulciano. After some research projects at the "Paul Sacher" Stiftung Basel ("János Tamás and the Hungarian piano tradition”) and MDW Wien (Czernys Klavierpadagogik und Wiener Klaviertradition), from 2015 he is carrying on his artistic project titled: "Emile Jaques-Dalcroze: mouvement of a piano composer" presented in Austria and Canada (2017 University of Laval). Today Paolo Munaò lives up Impruneta hills.
